Two restaurants have sued Grubhub for adding them to its platform without their permission, reports Restaurant Dive. The plaintiffs are proposing a class-action lawsuit on behalf of over 150,000 unaffiliated restaurants that were added to Grubhub since 2019.
The suit also claims that Grubhub made a distinction in its drivers’ apps between partnered and non-partnered restaurants by highlighting the unaffiliated businesses in purple. For those, Grubhub reportedly told drivers to act as if they were a diner picking up their order, rather than picking up through a third-party service.
Grubhub said it does not comment on pending litigation, according to the report. Full Story
